Arrive at Lake Barkley State Resort Park and check in to your double room overlooking Lake Barkley. Join the park’s recreation staff for a quick overview and tour of the park and facilities. Then proceed down to the dining room to partake of the wonderful buffet for dinner at “Windows By The Lake”. After dinner take some private time to rest and stroll around the park to see the lake beauty and wildlife. You may even want to head over to the fitness center for an evening swim, kick back in the spa, or enjoy the steam or sauna room.

The morning will begin with a trip into Cadiz for the experience of “Fairholm”. This historic Victorian home is fully decorated and is alive just as the previous owner left it, Mr. John L. Street. Docents will tour you through the home explaining the furnishings and the importance of special items. Next we will take a short stroll downhill to the Janice Mason Art Museum, where you will be able to observe the exhibition on display. A quaint museum shop is open which has arts and crafts for sale from our local artisans. We should be ready for lunch by now.
“Hot Diggity Dog” will be waiting for you. You can eat the Cadiz Dog or a number of other specialty sandwiches and homemade soups. This place was rated as one of the top 101 places you must eat at while in Kentucky. Wow – right here in our Cadiz!
The rest of the afternoon is for strolling through downtown historic Cadiz and visiting all the Antique Malls and Specialty Shops. It’s time to head back to Lake Barkley State Resort Park, for yet another wonderful dinner and maybe even a special program from the recreation staff. Enjoy Bingo; Owl Prowls, or other activities can be scheduled.
Wake up and load up – time for breakfast before heading home. Depending on your destination, we can plan a short motor coach tour through the “Elk and Bison” Prairie if heading west, if you are leaving and heading east we will schedule a stop at “Broadbent’s Food & Gift Shop” right before getting on I-24. Last chance to pick up a special gift or just get something for yourself.
